All Western Australian public schools are reviewed by the Department of Education’s Public School Accountability directorate. A review gives assurance to the local community, the Minister for Education and Training and the Director General about the performance of public schools in delivering high quality education to its students. The review acknowledges the achievements of the school and gives feedback to support the principal and staff with their improvement planning.
It has been a terrific year for Yanchep Lagoon Primary School. Firstly, we were successful in gaining ‘Independent Public School’ status. This is a positive development for our school as we will be able to truly represent the aspirations of the wider school community. Our school will be better able to attract staff who share our values and will help shape our priorities and programs and, ultimately, further enhance the learning programs for our students.
Priority 1: Excellence in Teaching and Leadership - supporting a culture of high expectations for all students.
Priority 2: Nurturing the future by creating critical and creative learners, well preparing our students for the 21st Century.
Priority 3: Providing a Safe and Supportive Environment for students, staff and the community.
Students are not permitted to use mobile phones. The school will not accept responsibility for the loss of mobile phones or electronic devices. In the event that students need to make contact with parents or caregivers for urgent or important business they may ask a teacher, deputy or school office staff to use the school phone service on their behalf. Students are to hand in their mobile phone to the office each morning.
